So we arrive in the middle of July, another magnificent month which sees plants and animals of all shape and size come into their own. This month, itís time to settle down and enjoy the garden, and admire all of the wildlife that comes with it.

Buddleja alternifolia

A most exotic flowering form of Buddleja with superb rose pink large flowers with just a hint of yellow within the base of the flowers which appear in June. Though it originates from the Himalayas it does require care in siteing needing a warm spot and protection from hard frosts but very much worth the effort.

This is a wonderful large shrub with serrated leaves and downy white stems. In late summer, the tips of the stems bear beautiful lilac coloured fragrant flowers with orange throats.

Expect a mix of colours mostlylight blue purplkes from these seed raised plants. a good choice for the wild garden where as the name suggests 'The Butterfly Bush' during the height and end of summer can be teeming with masses of butterflies.
