Red Buckeye from southern United States and introduced in 1722 makes a fine specimen large shrub with wide spreading branches, Horse Chestnut like leaves and glorious crimson flowers in long panicles opening in June and July.

The 'Japanese horse chesnut'. A large tree with foliage attractively veined and tinted in the autumn. Produces long panicles of yellowish-white flowers, each with a delicate red spot. Its luxurious fruits are large and pear-shaped.

Chestnut Horse Tree - Aesculus hippocastanum

One of the most beautiful of all hardy flowering trees in Britain. Covered in large cones of white flowers in May whist the fruits split in autumn to reveal familiar shiny conkers.
