Grenadier makes a good flavoured early cooker ripening from early August. Cooks to a delicious puree with a strong ‘appley’ taste. Grenadier was once a very popular early cooker now seldom grown commercially, which is a shame given its ease of cultivation and natural disease resistance.
Our Apple Grenadier bare rooted trees are lifted at the start of the bare root season in November, when the apple trees become dormant, and made available through to March the following year. This period is the ideal time for economical planting. You will however have to wait a year to pick your crop as bare root trees cannot be picked in their first year. For all year round planting why not choose from our selection of container grown apple trees. They do cost more but are older, more established and ready to crop.
Available in economy and premium selection
Economy - rooted into its pot but a further season before moving up a pot size.
Premium - more growth in its pot. More mature than Economy
We offer a full planting service, in and around East Anglia, for all our trees and plants, working in areas from town gardens, to large estates with plants that range from a single tree, to whole woodlands and everything in between.
