ARTHUR TURNER APPLE

Arthur Turner is a very sweet cooking apple which cooks to a wonderfully light purée hardly needing any sugar. Arthur Turner has a washed green to yellow skin with a faded red flush, a true beauty. The fruit of the Apple Arthur Turner hang tightly to the branches so the picking period can sometimes reach November.

Apple Arthur Turner originated in Buckinghamshire around 1910 – 1915 and instantly became a reliable cropper and a dependable apple for cooking. Arthur Turner also has a reputation for being resistant to scab.

Our Arthur Turner bare rooted trees are lifted at the start of the bare root season in November, when the apple trees become dormant, and made available through to March the following year. This period is the ideal time for economical planting. You will however have to wait a year to pick your crop as bare root trees cannot be picked in their first year. For all year round planting why not choose from our selection of container grown apple trees. They do cost more but are older, more established and ready to crop.
