BRAEBURN APPLE
Braeburn is a first class dessert apple. Braeburn has everything that we look for and it is easy to see why the commercial growers grew it with such gusto. Apple Braeburn is a very reliable cropper; it stores well and has a reputation of being easy to grow. It easily outstrips some of the other varieties with its complex flavour and rich juicy texture. The crunch of the apple is coupled with an instant rush of refreshing flavour which has been described as ‘encompassing the meaning of eating apples’.
Apple Braeburn originated in New Zealand during the 1950’s and quickly became a commercial success opening the gates for many new ‘supermarket apples’. Of course the taste cannot be compared to an apple you have grown yourself.
Our Apple Braeburn bare rooted trees are lifted at the start of the bare root season in November, when the apple trees become dormant, and made available through to March the following year. This period is the ideal time for economical planting. You will however have to wait a year to pick your crop as bare root trees cannot be picked in their first year. For all year round planting why not choose from our selection of container grown apple trees. They do cost more but are older, more established and ready to crop.
Available in economy and premium selection
Economy - rooted into its pot but a further season before moving up a pot size.
Premium - more growth in its pot. More mature than Economy
