COTTENHAM SEEDLING APPLE
Cottenham Seedling was raised by Robert Norman of Cottenham in Cambridgeshire around 1924. Cottenham Seedling was once a favourite of commercial growers in this fruit growing area of Cambridgeshire. Pale yellow slightly greasy skin with occasional orange red stripes. Good coarse sharp juicy apple flavoured flesh. Keeps well right to end of March .
Our Apple Cottenham Seedling bare rooted trees are lifted at the start of the bare root season in November, when the apple trees become dormant, and made available through to March the following year. This period is the ideal time for economical planting. You will however have to wait a year to pick your crop as bare root trees cannot be picked in their first year. For all year round planting why not choose from our selection of container grown apple trees. They do cost more but are older, more established and ready to crop.
Available in economy and premium selection
Economy - rooted into its pot but a further season before moving up a pot size.
Premium - more growth in its pot. More mature than Economy
