DR HARVEY APPLE

Dr. Harvey is another from our heritage collection of apples. Its origins are a little uncertain, sometimes regarded as of Norfolk origin or also first recorded in Essex and thought to have been named after Dr. Gabriel Harvey, a former Master of Trinity College, Cambridge, who lived in Saffron Walden, Essex. Makes a hardy tree producing good reliable crops of very large sized cooking apples with greenish to golden yellow skin. When cooked makes a light puree, or can be baked keeping its shape well. C.1629

Our Apple Dr. Harvey bare rooted trees are lifted at the start of the bare root season in November, when the apple trees become dormant, and made available through to March the following year. This period is the ideal time for economical planting. You will however have to wait a year to pick your crop as bare root trees cannot be picked in their first year. For all year round planting why not choose from our selection of container grown apple trees. They do cost more but are older, more established and ready to crop.

Available in economy and premium selection

Economy - rooted into its pot but a further season before moving up a pot size.
Premium - more growth in its pot. More mature than Economy
