GASCOYNES SCARLETT (M25) APPLE
Gacoynes Scarlet is another very old variety from our Heritage Collection. Named after its raiser a Mr Gascoyne of Sittingbourne Kent. It was then introduced for sale by G Bunyard & Co Nursery of Maidstone around 1871. Our trees are propagated from a very old tree found in the remains of an old derelict orchard in central Suffolk. Gascoynes Scarlet produces a medium sized apple, green with bright scarlet red flush, flesh is firm moderately juicy with a subtle flavour
