NORFOLK BEEFING APPLE

Norfolk Beefing is another local outstanding cooking variety but is also great to eat for those who really enjoy a sharp tasting apple.
The apples from the Norfolk Beefing are large and develop a purple flush to their green skin as they ripen. The Apple Norfolk Beefing will retain its round shape once cooked and can therefore be used in culinary decoration if it survives that long, they are delicious. It was sold in Norwich by bakers as an after dinner sweetmeat.
The fruit should be picked in mid-October and can be stored until April. This is a dual purpose variety; being sweet enough to eat in the spring but also making a perfect baked apple.
Our Apple Norfolk Beefing bare rooted trees are lifted at the start of the bare root season in November, when the apple trees become dormant, and made available through to March the following year. This period is the ideal time for economical planting. You will however have to wait a year to pick your crop as bare root trees cannot be picked in their first year. For all year round planting why not choose from our selection of container grown apple trees. They do cost more but are older, more established and ready to crop.
Available in economy and premium selection
Economy - rooted into its pot but a further season before moving up a pot size.
Premium - more growth in its pot. More mature than Economy
