NORFOLK DUMPLING APPLE
Norfolk Dumpling is a very old Heritage collection apple of unknown origin, dating from 1827 was brought back from extinction by a chance find in a North Norfolk former rectory by the owner a retired GP who patiently set about propagating stock from the tree and now its available again since its last recording in the 1920’s. A cooking apple with green yellow waxy skin delicate flavoured flesh which cooks to light golden puree.
Our Apple Norfolk Dumpling bare rooted trees are lifted at the start of the bare root season in November, when the apple trees become dormant, and made available through to March the following year. This period is the ideal time for economical planting. You will however have to wait a year to pick your crop as bare root trees cannot be picked in their first year. For all year round planting why not choose from our selection of container grown apple trees. They do cost more but are older, more established and ready to crop.
Available in economy and premium selection
Economy - rooted into its pot but a further season before moving up a pot size.
Premium - more growth in its pot. More mature than Economy
