'Swedish Birch; makes a tall slender tree with drooping branches in a cascade effect with finely cut foliage. Often confused with similar looking B. P. Dalecarlica

Betula pendula Purpurea

Dark Green/purple leaves, makes a rather striking tree of familiar birch outline but somewhat slow in growth

This lovely form of Birch has rich purple leaves, similar colour to that of purple beech and in time has a cinnamon white smooth stem. Autumn colour on Betula pendula Royal Frost has to be one of the most interesting of all Betulas, the leaves going from the summer purple though oranges and yellows.
