ASSISTANT NURSERY MANAGER

We are looking for someone to join us here at Botanica working within a unique nursery and arboretum environment

The role would be extremely varied ranging from ‘hands on’ to administrative and generally supporting the Nursery Manager by helping supervise the production growing team.

This is a wide-ranging role where previous nursery or growing experience would be preferred, though an enthusiasm for plants and/or proven past supervisory position or management experience would definitely be considered

May also suit person recently qualified and looking to take their first steps in a horticultural career.

Propagation Supervisor

We are looking for someone to join and supervise our small enthusiastic propagation team working within a unique nursery and arboretum environment. The role would involve working closely with the Nursery manager to plan and maintain levels of production and also take on a supervisory role within the growing teams

The job would include all usual methods of propagation from seed to cuttings to grafting etc

We are looking for someone who has a keen interest in plant propagation and keen to help expand our range of rare trees and shrubs.

May suit person recently qualified and looking to take their first steps in a horticultural career.

SENIOR LANDSCAPE TEAM LEADER

Working alongside the Design Team and Contracts Manager, you will help make ideas a reality. At the beginning of new contracts you will contribute to the presentation of contract costings and implementation plans. Once underway you will provide day to day project supervision and management. This would include organising material purchasing, site expenditure, labour and logistics. On site, you will lead and work hands on with the landscape staff to achieve the projected results. You will be the day to day company representative with the client on site.

SKILLED LANDSCAPE OPERATIVE

Working in teams of two or three under the leadership of the Contracts Manager you will carry out a range of hard and soft landscaping duties on sites around Suffolk, Norfolk & North Essex.

Tree, hedge and shrub planting, fencing, bricklaying, laying paving slabs, wildlife habitat creation, woodland clearance & re-planting, turfing / seeding & use of diggers, dumpers & pedestrian machinery e.g. rotovators etc.

As well as working for our private clients you will also on occasion work at the Nursery carrying out repairs to the buildings / tunnels / irrigation as well as the future development of the site.

You will be involved in specialist tree planting services for specimen trees grown in containers up to 1000 litre in size.

FULL/PART TIME NURSERY WORKERS


Experience is not essential as full training will be given. Ideally you will have an interest in plants. You need to be physically fit.

Your duties will include: Digging, lifting & planting trees, Training plants to trellis and bamboo cans, Potting in containers from 9cm up to 70 litres (working in a team around a potting trailer and then laying out on beds), Weeding, Watering etc. Some heavy lifting is involved

FRONT OF HOUSE / SALES ADMINISTRATOR

We are seeking someone with an enthusiasm for plants and trees who will provide the front face of the plant nursery, you will meet and greet customers making sure all visitors are welcomed onto the site and be able to direct their enquiries.

Working primarily in an outdoor environment in all-weathers, you will enjoy working in a busy, fast-paced environment. A team player and confident communicator who is eager to learn new skills and gain new experiences.

Working hours: 08:30 to 17:00 Monday to Friday with some weekend working required

Job Description

You will welcome visitors by greeting them in person or by telephone. You will ensure telephone calls are answered promptly and directed to the correct team. Using the in-house database and customer management system you will undertake administrative duties as required.
