Oak Sessile Tree - Quercus petraea

Another of our large native oaks. A common Oak in our landscape particularly in the damper west of the country makes a large imposing landscape tree.

Pear Wild - Pyrus communis

The common or garden pear, ignore its humble background as this small to medium sized tree will delight in spring when covered in white blossom and in autumn with a superb display of orange and reds.

Poplar Quaking Aspen Tree - Populus tremula

This medium sized tree has toothed leaves that turn yellow and stay late on the tree in autumn. Further interest in early spring when it is draped with long grey-green catkins.

Poplar White  - Populus alba

The White Poplar or Abele is a large suckering tree of very fast growth for tough conditions with attractive white down on the underside of the leaves. Lovely in autumn when the leaves turn butter yellow.

Rowan or Mountain Ash. A lovely native tree with pinnate leaves and clusters of white flowers in May, followed by bright red berries in autumn.

Sycamore Tree - Acer pseudoplatanus

The Sycamore makes a vigorous large tree with large lobed leaves. Yellow flowers grow in a hanging panicle and the female ones become the familiar winged fruits, which flutter through the air when they fall.

Walnut Black - Juglans nigra

A very handsome vigorous tree with large leaves and large round walnut fruits, often grown for its valuable timber. Introduced from Eastern and Central Norsth America.

Walnut Tree - Juglans regia

Slower growing than the Black Walnut, produces edible walnuts when mature, which takes a good few years so dont wait up for this.

Whitebeam Swedish - Sorbus intermedia

A useful small to medium sized tree adaptable to a wide range of conditions, develops a good balanced rounded head of branches with leaves an intriguing mix of half lobed and half coarsely toothed and of a pleasing green.
