Eryngium agavifolium

Thriving in open and dry positions the spined sword-like rich green leaves make a superb architectural statement. Flowers on long stalks like green thimbles.

Eryngium bourgatii Picos Blue


Native to the Spanish mountains, this species displays flowers that open as frosty silver which turn blue in the summer set against thistle like foliage

Eryngium eburneum (bromelifolium)


Forms rosettes of narrow finely toothed leaves, similar to the leaves on top of a pineapple. Tall stems carry branching heads tipped with thimble-shaped clusters of white flowers.


Silvery white, coned flowers are surrounded by silver, spiny bracts.

Sea hollies are striking plants for a summer border but only thrive where drainage is particularly good. With large vivid blue flowers with dark green leaves it attracts bees and is good for cutting and drying.
