Edward VII Apple

Apple King Edward VII. A cooking apple that makes an excellent hardy well behaved tree resistant to scab, producing bright green to yellow good sized fruits, with the perfect flavour for apple pie.

Egremont Russet Apple

Egremont Russet apples have been considered one of the finest dessert apples for well over a century, very popular in the Victorian era. Supposedly raised by the Earl of Egremont, Petworth, Sussex around 1872. Still one of the most important commercial russet apples grown in England.

Ellisons Orange Apple

Apple Ellisons Orange is a classic tasting English apple, producing a good medium sized, golden-yellow dessert apple with attractive crimson stripes. Has a strong influence of taste characteristic from one of its parents Coxs Orange Pippin with crisp and tender juicy flesh but with a unique spicy anise flavour.

Golden Noble produces good crops of large golden yellow cooking apples, high in vitamin C. Regarded by many as the best cooking apple, certainly a good reliable alternative to Bramley.

A Norfolk variety apple from our Heritage Collection. Horsford Prolific was discovered by the Reverand Mountfield in the vicarage garden at Horsford near Norwich around 1913. Reliably produces good crops of medium large apples with a buttery yellow skin and orange red flush with red stripes.

A Guinness Book record holder for the largest apple grown, one apple often all thats needed for an apple pie. Howgate Wonder was raised by a retired policeman turned gardener, a Mr G Wratton of Bembridge Isle of Wight in 1915 and named after the Howgate Lane he lived in

James Grieve Apple

Once very popular James Grieve is an old variety, which produces good crops of medium sized yellow skinned all-purpose fruit with an attractive striped red flush. Tends to bruise easily so supermarkets do not stock it, which is a shame as it has an excellent flavour very intense and sharp early in the season.

Apple Jonathan is an attractive looking apple of excellent flavour, produces regular heavy crops of juicy, sweet apples. Also has a distinct benefit of being a self-fertile variety. Jonathan is an apple of N. American origin and still widely grown there

Jordons Weeping Apple

From our Heritage collection, Jordans Weeping apple is of uncertain origin but was found growing in a garden in Horning on the Norfolk Broads around the 1900s. Makes a smallish tree with a natural weeping outline. The apples are medium sized, yellow skinned with an attractive red and orange flush. The flesh is firm and taste beautifully sweet.

Jupiter Apple

A classic good looking apple, yellow skin with orange flush and red streaks. Apple Jupiter is a relatively recent introduction from the 1960s, bred at the famous East Malling Research Station in Kent. Produces a Cox style flavoured apple, a little more robust and tangy in taste than the typical Cox.

Kent Apple

Also known as apple Malling Kent and originally bred and raised at the East Malling Research Station by H Tydeman as a cross between Coxs Orange Pippin and apple Jonathan. Malling Kent was introduced into Edit Edit Production around 1974. Apple Kent makes good reliable apple tree with a high disease resistance.

Kidds Orange Red Apple

Often found in supermarkets and sold as a Cox apple. The fruit of Kidds Orange Red have a bright orange red flush on its skin with occasional slight russeting. Thin skinned with a crisp bite and cream yellow coloured flesh that releases the delicious flavour that is some bit sweeter than Cox. A reliable cropper without too many problems make Kidds Orange Red a good choice which keeps well until the New Year
