PLUM CZAR

Plum Czar produces a large purple plum that is tender with a pleasant slightly acidic flavour. It is one of the earliest of all the culinary plums and can also be eaten fresh if left to become fully ripe.

Plum Czar is also noted for having one of the best blossoms of all Plum trees. The blossom has also some resistance to frost which makes it particularly suited to tougher growing conditions such as a north facing wall.

Our Plum Czar bare rooted trees are lifted at the start of the bare root season in November, when the plum trees become dormant, and made available through to March the following year. This period is the ideal time for economical planting. You will however have to wait a year to pick your crop as bare root trees cannot be picked in their first year. For all year round planting why not choose from our selection of container grown plum trees. They do cost more but are older, more established and ready to crop.
