Rhus aromatica

A good choice of Sumach for the small garden, makes onle a small spreading tree with glorious autumnal leaf colour ranging from orange, red and purple.


Introduced in 1688 from Eastern N. America, common name is Dwarf Sumach which describes it well being like a miniature version of R. typhina including good autumn colouring.


The 'Smooth Sumach'. Medium to large sized spreading shrub, attractive large pinnate foliage turning stunning autumn colours of red orange and scarlet.


Introduced by Ernest Wilson from China around the turn of the 1900's. Makes a small round headed tree, in autumn the usual fabulous display of colour
