Katy Apple

Apple Katy originated in Sweden around 1947 where it is called Katya and is a cross between James Grieve and Worcester Pearmain. It is ideal for cooler conditions and reliably produces good crops of good medium sized juicy apples, even in poor summers.

Laxtons Fortune Apple

Apple Laxtons Fortune is yet another apple bred by the famous Laxton Brothers Nursery. Produces early in the picking season medium sized pale green dessert apples with an attractive red flush.

A large green cooker turning yellow with age. A firm sub acid flesh good for pies. Strong sharp flavour requiring some sugar when cooked. Cheshire 1862

Lord Lambourne Apple

Apple Lord Lambourne is a high quality dessert apple, which crops heavily and regularly almost anywhere. Medium sized crisp sweet, juicy and aromatic flesh. Bedfordshire C.1907.

Raised by a Dr Allan Maclean in Sudbury during 1820 this late keeping dessert apple is ready to be picked in November allowing it to be kept until January. Roundish, rich and highly flavoured the Macleans Favourite has a yellow striped appearance and has been noted as an apple of the highest excellence by the London Horticultural Society in 1842.

Marriage Maker Apple

Apple Marriage Maker is a sweet dessert apple, small with a mellow flavour. It is distinctively round with an entirely crimson skin.

Merton Beauty Apple

An old variety from around 1930. Medium sized fruit with slight red flush, sweet slightly aniseed flavoured flesh.

Merton Russet Apple

Apple Merton Russet is small with a distinctive skin of pale cinnamon/gold russet over yellow/gold base, often with a brown red flush on one side giving it a very attractive look.

Apple Morgan Sweet is an attractive green/yellow colour and the trees are large and vigorous. The greenish-yellow apple ferments quickly, making it an ideal early cider-maker. If not used in the first cider of the season, the sugary refreshing juice is light and can be enjoyed as an early season dessert.

The Apple Norfolk Beauty is an excellent local variety that was raised by the head gardener at Gunton Park in Norwich by crossing an Apple Warners King with a Waltham Abbey seedling. Apple Norfolk Beauty is a relatively large cooking apple which cooks to creamy puree and requires little sugar due to its natural sweetness.

A very old Heritage collection apple Norfolk Dumpling of unknown origin. A cooking apple with green yellow waxy skin delicate flavoured flesh which cooks to light golden puree.

A Heritage Collection old cooking apple variety from Norfolk. The origins of Summer Broadend are somewhat obscure dating from the late 1700s. Was once popular in the Norwich area of Norfolk.
