LADY SUDELY APPLE
Lady Sudely apple produces very attractive medium sized fruit, bright golden yellow with an orange flush and bright red stripes. Lady Sudeley was originally known as Jacobs Strawberry circa 1849. It was later renamed by the Lord Sudeley in honour of his wife Lady Sudeley and introduced by the Nurserymen Bunyard and Company of Maidstone in Kent around 1885. It was popular during this Victorian period under either of its names and remains still so today. Being an early eating variety does not store well, but eaten soon after picking you can enjoy the sweet juicy creamy yellow flesh with a tangy note.
Our Apple Lady Sudely bare rooted trees are lifted at the start of the bare root season in November, when the apple trees become dormant, and made available through to March the following year. This period is the ideal time for economical planting. You will however have to wait a year to pick your crop as bare root trees cannot be picked in their first year. For all year round planting why not choose from our selection of container grown apple trees. They do cost more but are older, more established and ready to crop.
Available in economy and premium selection
Economy - rooted into its pot but a further season before moving up a pot size.
Premium - more growth in its pot. More mature than Economy
