Chinese Persimmon though perfectly hardy needs a good warm long summer in our southern counties to produce their attractive orange yellow tomato like fruits which if allowed to soften slightly produces a sweet jelly like flesh. A similar cultivar is found in the supermarkets as Sharon Fruit
